I glimpsed your face, faintly heard your song Once in his garden so many years past He is gone now, into winter, into the void
Once in his garden, I found you Through senses I'd never known, So frail and innocent, fragrant and warm
Rampant wild color, such yearning For someone to truly see or smell or touch Your thousand blossoms in the innocence of spring
And I wonder who is loving you Now that he is gone, surely someone Has heard your voice, felt your shy love
And on a soft spring day, in that moment Understood their life
