Frail Thread
Today I held you
by a frail thread
willed my health
into your small
burning body
your helpless eyes
looked brightly at me
with such trust
knowing I can
reorder the universe
with my powerful
mother hands
that's why I'm
on my knees now
in the darkness
calling on
a multitude
of forgotten gods
