labyrinth
Daylight

Forget the daylight, unlearn warmth
Embrace the lapse of heart, fugue state of soul
Watch life fade and turn away the luminous day
Engrave these words upon your heart:
Dawn is breaking somewhere as you fall

Carve them deep into stone, spiraling
Upward as you fall into the hollow earth
With hands outstretched, these are his gifts
Remembrance of sun, these small, sure clefts
Transfixed in stone - handholds for another life
