labyrinth
Between Darkness and The Light

They say it was a dream;
That I did not see love
In your sad, demon eyes.
That I did not watch
Your breathless struggle
Caught in a netherworld
Between darkness
And the light,
Your painful dance
Toward tenderness.
That I should believe
Your gentle touch
A nightmare,
A mere shadowplay of heart.
Is reality just this cold, dead dawn?
Then tell me, what is life
If not the tenuous hand, reaching blindly,
Gloriously toward love?
